Have you heard the term e-learning? The term e-learning is one of the current learning methods. Some universities and schools are already implementing this learning method. The learning method is great for geographic regions such as Indonesia. Indonesia is an archipelago. E -learning method is very helpful for students and students to learn. This method can help teachers to reach school or university that is far remote islands.
This method of learning is done through internet access. The teacher displays a video that contains teaching or education. Some sense related to e-Learning is as follows:
Distance learning.
E-learning enables learners to gain knowledge without having to physically attend classes. Learners can be in places far apart, while the "instructor" and the lessons to be followed elsewhere, in other cities and even in other countries. The interaction can be run on-line and real-time or offline.
Learners learn from a computer in the office or at home by using a local network connection or network using the Internet or media CD / DVD that has been prepared. Learning materials are managed by a central provider of material on college / university, or company specific content provider. Learners can set their own study time, and the place from which it accesses the lesson.
Learning with computers
E-Learning is delivered by utilizing computer software. In general, the device has a multimedia device, with a CD drive and an Internet connection or a local intranet. By having a computer connected to the intranet or the Internet, learners can participate in e-Learning. The number of learners who can participate is not restricted by the capacity of the class. The subject matter may be presented with a higher quality standard than conventional classes that depend on the conditions of teachers.
Formal learning vs. informal
E-Learning can include both formal and informal learning. E-Learning formally, for example, are learning the curriculum, syllabus, subjects and tests that have been organized and prepared on a schedule agreed upon relevant parties (managing e-Learning and the learners themselves). Learning like this is usually high and the level of interaction required by the company to its employees, or distance learning managed by universities and companies (usually a company consultant) who is engaged in the provision of e-Learning services to the public. E-Learning can also be done informally with a simpler interaction, for example by means of a mailing list, e-newsletter or personal websites, organizations and companies who want to socialize the services, programs, specific knowledge or skills in the wider community (usually free of charge).
Learning supported by experts in their respective fields.
Although it looks like an e-Learning is given only through the computer, e-Learning turns prepared, supported, managed by a team of experts in their respective fields, namely:
1. Subject Matter Expert (SME) or a resource of training delivered
2. Instructional Designer (ID), tasked to systematically design a matter of SMEs into e-Learning materials by incorporating elements of teaching methods so that the material becomes more interactive, easier and more interesting to learn
3. Graphic Designer (GD), change the text material into graphic form with images, colors, and layout are pleasing to the eye, effective and interesting to learn
4. Expert field Learning Management System (LMS). Manage system traffic websites that regulate the interaction between instructors and students, student-student with other students.
Here, learners can see the modules offered, could take on tasks and tests that must be done, as well as view the schedule in virtual discussions with instructors, other resource persons, and other learners. Through this LMS, students can also see the value assignments and tests as well as the ranking based on the value (task or test) were obtained.
E-Learning is not given solely by machines, but like conventional learning in the classroom, e-learning supported by experts in various related fields. The teacher should try e -learning methods. Congratulations success as a creative faculty.
